John Singer Sargent's painting entitled "Gassed!" depicts victims of a gas attack. Soldiers were made horribly ill by the new chemical weapon, but the most common symptom experienced was blindness. Here you see soldiers leading one another off of the battlefield. (This annotation contains an image)
