Waterford will release an automatic software update on September 17th, 2018. See what’s in this release in the list below. If you have any questions, our Support Team is always happy to help!
Curriculet has some brand new functionality. To better support our teachers that want to use Curriculet as an independent reading tool, we’ve added a way for teachers to set and track reading goals. To use this new feature, simple click on “Goals,” which has been added to your teacher landing page:
You will then be taken to the “Goals” page that will show you a list of all goals you have created. From there you can create, edit, or delete reading goals. Reading goals are created at a class or group level, but can easily be updated and customized for individual students, giving you complete control over how much you want to challenge your students.
Once set, a goal will be applied to the students, and any book they read on their own during the time established in the goal will count towards it. A student can only have one active goal at a time per class or group. Curriculet will continue to monitor a student’s weekly reading, as per current functionality.
With your goal in place and your students reading, you can then view the data page to track their progress. You will notice that the Independent Reading Reports we provided in the past have a slight facelift to reflect the new goal capabilities. You can easily see a summary of your students’ reading, flip between goals to see how your students are doing or have done on previous assignments, or dive down deeper to see what books they are currently reading.
Students will also be given access to see their goals and their progress using a tracker found in their “Book Bag.” This has very similar functionality to the teacher’s view, allowing students to switch between classes and goals so they can track current progress and see past success. They are also given a friendly remind of how many days are left to achieve their goal so they are never caught off guard when a due date is approaching.
